My new Trick

Hazel's new trick is sticking out her tongue! I think her Dad taught her this and she seems to be really good at it. She is constantly sticking her tongue out at me! Its very cute for now, but hopefully she will outgrow that one eventually.

We have been so busy since Thanksgiving. I am back to work and Grandma Nancy has been here with Hazel. She is getting bigger everyday! She she is so vocal and giggly in the mornings I wish I didn't have to go to work. She has been talking to her Grandma all day long and Grandma is loving it!

Happy Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving twice this weekend! Alex fed Hazel her Thanksgiving dinner!








Hazel and I took a cat nap on the couch on Black Friday. We were up at 4:30 am, but not to do shopping!

Hazel had her first photo shoot with Uncle B. We were very thankful he drove down from Omaha to take pictures for us. She did well, but had a little meltdown from all the wardrobe changes. She was very tired and ended up sleeping through the outdoor pictures.

Today Hazel wore her first pair of corduroys.... for about 20 minutes then we had a diaper blow-out! I can't believe how much she is changing everyday. She likes to 'talk' to us a lot in the mornings and we really enjoy those smiles...though we have yet to catch one on film!












In this picture I can see a little bit of a resemblance to cousin Nic- who Hazel is so excited to meet at Thanksgiving.











I was away on Saturday so Hazel and her Dad got to hang out. Can you see her bib says 'I love Daddy'? She took some nice long naps for her Dad. She is getting better at taking naps and still is able to sleep most of the night. I usually only get up twice with her. Alex is good about letting me sleep in and he takes over. I won't have that luxury much longer- only a little more than a week left of my maternity leave!

Question:Was There any doubt that hazel likes to rock?

Answer: I didn't think so.

Ellie the babysitter

Ellie helped Aunt Laura babysit today so that I could go to the dentist!







She is smelling Hazel's feet, but I am pretty sure the smell is coming from her pants!








I think Ellie and Hazel will have lots of fun together when Hazel is old enough to play. Ellie is very into everything 'baby.'

Playdate with Jay

Hazel had a playdate with Jay Ryan last week. Jay was only 3 weeks old and he was very sleepy! Hazel enjoyed playing with the toys on his bouncy chair while he was napping.
Obviously the playdate was more fun for Jay's mom Jill and for myself than it was for the babies. We need some adult conversation!





Jay is 3 weeks and Hazel is 9 weeks. At her checkup the day before, she was 12lbs 2oz! She got her first round of shots and had slept all morning. She did stay awake for the playdate though.

Ellie's Party

Hazel attended her first party! Cousin Ellie had her 2nd BDay party last night. Hazel matched the birthday girl compliments of an outfit Aunt Mary gave her. Her Dad had fun playing the pinball and skee ball, someday Hazel will have fun with that too!










Ellie's curious george cake was yummy! She also had really good monkey cupcakes. I went ahead and ate Hazel's cupcake for her.

Baby Bumbo

It was a rainy day so we couldn't go for a walk. I put her in the Baby Bjorn hoping she would fall asleep. She doesn't seem to want to take a nap today- which is okay if she promises to sleep all night!!

Since we were stuck inside Hazel tried out her Bumbo Chair. I think she will like it more when she gets alittle bigger!

Today Grandma Nancy had to go back to MO. Hazel enjoyed spending time with her and so did we! It really helped us catch up on sleep and housework- and of course she made some really good food too!

Hangin' with Dad

Hazel is hanging with Dad in the morning. We were so excited She slept 5 hours at a time last night. She went bed around 1130 then didn't wake up until 4:15! I woke up around 3 and had to check on her because I am not used to her sleeping that long. Then she slept in until 8:30- She only had to eat once last night! I hope this pattern continues...

Hazel tried out her Happy Hippo mat and the dogs supervised. I think Kessler would like his own Happy Hippo Mat. She had the hiccups but didn't seem to mind too much.

Pants off Dance Off

Last night we joined the Schrams for pizza. Ellie and Hazel decided to have a pants off dance off in their onsies! Ellie is gentle with Hazel and is quick to point out what belongs to 'baby' and what belongs to 'Ellie'.
