Rub a dub dub, Hazel in the tub!

Hazel is enjoying bath time more and more. She is grabbing the toys and even sticking them in her mouth. Her splashes have gotten bigger and bigger so we can't bathe her on the counter anymore. As you can tell from the pictures, her hair is really growing now. We are hoping for pigtails this summer!!

I love the smell of baby after a bath!

6 State Tour

After leaving Minnesota Wednesay afternoon, our first stop was in Wisconsin where I thought Hazel was going to get her first Shramrock shake.

We arrived in Aurora, IL after several stops in Indiana that were less than pleasant! Hazel was glad to get out of the car and start playing with Nic's toys! She got to ride his favorite toy, the rocking horse! Altough, she hasn't figured out how to ride it one-handed rodeo style like Nic does.

She did try ot nibble on the horses's mane, but decided it wasn't tasty.

She tired out Nic's swing and also took a nap in it on Thurdsay. The weather was nice and we all go to go for a walk around the neighborhood. A very nice change from MN winter.

Nic and Hazel enjoy giggling together and rolling around on the floor. Her older cousin Nic is much better at rolling over than she is. I was hoping he would give her some pointers on how to get her arm out from underneath herself, since he has mastered that.

Ohio-

Hazel got to try out her bikini in the hotel pool!

I thought she would be very excited and splashy in the pool, but she really wasn't impressed. She didn't seem to mind the pool, but she also didn't appear that interested either.

She enjoyed the beach ball that came with the pack of swim diapers I bought.

Parker Abernathy- 6 weeks

Hazel got to meet Parker during our stay in Columbus, Ohio!

Hazel was ready to play, but Parker wanted to sleep! He slept through almost our whole visit.

Birdie holding Hazel. (My aunt, Hazel's great aunt?)

Parker finally showed us his eyes when he woke up to eat.

I could tell how proud Olin is to be a grandpa!

Alex and his mom and the wedding reception in Columbus

It was so warm at the reception we had to ditch the tights! Not a very ladylike picture for Hazel, but I think when you are a baby you can get away with it.

Hazel got to meet her Grandpa Bartley for the first time! He was very glad to see her and she enjoyed the visit too! If only West Virginia and Minnesota weren't so far away!

6 months!

We waited until our return from vacation to start in on the vegetables. The pediatrician told us not to start with anything sweet, so I of course choose peas. Hazel has been eating her rice cereal twice a day for awhile now so I thought veggies might be a smooth transition. Wrong!

From the first bite she started gagging! I then mixed the peas with her cereal to ease the transition. Still, a no go.

Even though she was gagging and spitting in out, she kept opening her mouth for more- so I kept giving her spoonfuls!

Alex and I were almost doubled over in laughter at this point. Shortly after this video, all the peas and cereal came right back up. Maybe tomorrow will be better... or maybe not.

February Fun

Who needs toys or teethers when you could just chew on your toes? Sometimes she gets both hands around one foot and pulls it right into her mouth!

Hazel's valentine sleeper that says 'Be Mine' right on the bum!

Look what I found in the laundry!

Rice Cereal, Yummy!

It took almost a week for Hazel to figure out what to do with the cereal. A fair amount still makes its way back out on the bib or under the chin. She does actually consume some of it though! Maybe we will try vegies next week.

Cousins Unite!

Hazel got to meet her cousin Nicolas for the first time this weekend! They had fun 'talking' and looking at each other. When we put them on the floor to play Nic kept tugging on Hazel's ears!

Here Nic, Hazel, and Ellie got to play together. Ellie the oldest of the three got to hold Hazel on the boppy. They had fun playing and laughing and rolling around on the floor.

Nic, almost 1 year!, Hazel 5 months, Ellie 2. Don't these 3 look like trouble!

Hazel's got an A in it

Hazel gets to spend two days a week at home with her Dad. He likes to sing and play his guitar for her. The latest tune for her is called "Hazel's got an A in it"

Last night Hazel did not want to go to bed. She just wanted to hang out and watch mom work on her school stuff. She is in her PJs and her sleep sack, snuggled in her boppy, holding her beetle. Quite the set up! She loves her beetle with the crinkly wings, it sings twinkle twinkle little star.

Hazel loves to talk to herself in the mornings when first wakes up. She likes to talk to her mom and dad too! Whenever I get the camera out she gets a little shy, but as you can see in this video she warms up.

4 month check up

Hazel had her 4 month appt. last week. She weighed 14lbs 12 oz and was 25 inches long. She is in the 74th Percentile for both weight and height so I think we are right on track. We might be starting cereal soon! She really didn't like the shots she got- she was fussy for a few days afterward.
