Hazel's 1st Birthday Party

We traveled back to MO to have Hazel's first party. All of these pictures were taken by Matt Reid www.pictureautism.org
She looked a little apprehensive when the whole room was singing to her. Then she started singing to herself as she experimented with the icing. She was very delicate at first then started to get very messy!

Week with Grandma Nancy

Grandma Nancy spent the whole week taking care of Hazel. She took lots of pictures, however she didn't make it into any of them!
One day after work we went to the Farmers market in Plainview. We got some focaccia bread for Hazel and some sweet corn. I had to cut it off the cob for her, she wasn't interested on knawing on the cob like I thought she would be.

Almost everyday Grandma took her to the park to swing. She really giggles on that swing!

Grandma turned the mirror on its side so Hazel could watch herself play! she really enjoyed that.

I think she knows when you have the camera out... look at that smile!
Thanks for spending the week with me Grandma!!!

Summer Parades!

Two weekends ago we met Ellie and Laura in Chatfield for the the parade. Ellie was too engrossed with the floats to look at the camera.

This last weekend was Corn on the Cob Days here in Plainview. I thought for sure Hazel would enjoy some corn on the cob, but she only wanted to lick the butter off! Maybe next year! Ellie came to the parade with Mike, Andrew, and Jocelyn.

Our friends Cindy, Jim, Asha, and Eli also made the trip to Plainview for the parade. We let the kids come inside and cool off before their drive back home. Asha and Eli really enjoyed Hazel's toys and Hazel had fun watching them play. Eli is only about 4 weeks older than Hazel! We tried to get a pic of Jim with all the kids but Asha was too busy playing! We really enjoyed seeing everyone over the weekend!

Weekend with Nicolas

Hazel got to play with her cousin Nicolas the last two weekends! They enjoyed playing on the floor and sharing toys...although Hazel really wanted to pull Nic's hair.... I think she was getting him back fof pulling her ear last time he was here:)

Hazel shared her wagon and we took the two babies to the park to swing. They really giggled in the swings! They were so cute...playing footsie in the wagon!

One of Hazel's toys has air that spins the parts and floats a plastic ball so that it is 'hovering'. Hazel has a hard time getting a hold of it with her hands so naturally, she decided to bob for it like an apple! Not sure why she thought that would be easier...but at least she is problem solving!

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Stockholm, WI. We had great weather and really enjoyed seeing the village and spending time with family. We got some great pics of Hazel this weekend. She has 2 teeth now, is crawling, and pulling up to the furniture. So, she keeps us busy!
